Loop Case Bruciate-Leva-Cornua

This route completes a loop within the Sori valley, staying almost entirely on mule tracks and trails, keeping asphalt paths to an absolute minimum (only about 200 meters between Case Cornua and the Cappelletta degli Alpini, an unavoidable section to connect to the main ridge). It is shorter than the ridges following the primary peaks, as it stays along a secondary ridge and mid-hillside paths.

Departure

The trail begins at Via Giordani 35 (Sori), reachable from the town center via the pedestrian path.

Part 1: Towards Levà and Case Cornua

The first stretch involves a rather steep but brief staircase to quickly gain altitude. Once past this, the trail continues with a gentler incline until it intercepts the gas pipeline path. You will walk uphill along this stretch and then, on your right, take the path leading slightly downhill towards Levà.

Note: This specific passage is recommended for experienced hikers; the ground is uneven with brief exposed sections, requiring a steady foot, especially in damp conditions.

Once you reach Levà, you hike back up towards Croce, a major trail junction where paths from Levà, Canepa, Case Becco, and the recently reopened trail to Case Cornua all converge. Taking this last trail, you stay level with a few ups and downs until reaching the houses. You will emerge onto the final hairpin bend of the road coming up from Sori, reaching Case Cornua in just a few minutes (about 50 meters of walking).

End of the first track.

Asphalt Connection and Return Along the Ridge

From Case Cornua, follow a short stretch of paved road towards Fasce until you reach the Cappelletta degli Alpini.

From here, head back onto the trail, looking for the ridge dividing the Recco and Sori valleys. The itinerary becomes very straightforward: follow the ridgeline faithfully with continuous ups and downs, ignoring the marked trail that cuts across the slope facing the Sori valley.

This section presents no particular difficulties and offers easy walking until closing the loop back into Sori.
